Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Dunedin seeks a Nurse Educator Learning and Compliance to lead nursing education, compliance, and workforce development. Based in Dunedin Hospital, this 0.5 FTE fixed-term, part-time role focuses on education, coaching, and change leadership to meet evidence-based guidelines and professional standards.

You will drive initiatives to improve patient care and service delivery, coordinating across teams and the Southern district as required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with current practising certificate.
  • Appropriate postgraduate qualification is required.
  • Holding or working towards PDRP is expected; submission within 6 months.

Through education, coaching, and change leadership, you will help ensure the nursing workforce meets evidence-based guidelines, professional standards, and emerging digital health expectations that enhance care delivery.

You will have the opportunity to advance nursing practice by ensuring our workforce adheres to evidence-based guidelines and professional standards, including essential training and compliance.

You will also lead and support projects involving the planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives to improve patient care and service delivery. At times, this work will reach across the whole Health New Zealand Southern district.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Current and considerable post-registration nursing experience
  • Professional credibility in the clinical setting
  • Confidence and passion for supporting and developing our nurses
  • First-rate knowledge of the professional standards and regulations for nurses
  • Experience in the use and implementation of digital technologies that support clinical practice
  • Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • A current driver's license

You must be a Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate, have an appropriate postgraduate qualification, hold or be working towards PDRP, and be ready to submit within 6 months.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale, between $114,025 and $121,444 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
