Job summary

Fulton Hogan Limited is seeking a dedicated water services operative for permanent night shift based in the Porirua Depot, serving the Wellington region. You will install and repair water connections, flushing mains and working with multiple teams on varied jobs.

You will bring practical trade experience, a reliable attitude, and comfort using iPad/tablet for recording information, with a strong health and safety mindset. A NZ licence class 1 is essential; class 2 WTR adds value.

Qualifications

• Practical trade or civil industry experience, ideally in water, with ability to use hand tools, small plant and machinery.
• Reliable, hard-working and proactive attitude.
• Ability to use technology (iPad/tablet) to record information.
• Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
• Full, clean NZ class 1 licence is essential; class 2 WTR is a plus.
• Enjoy outdoor manual labour and physical work.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair water connections on mains of all sizes.
• Undertake a mix of planned and reactive works across the Wellington region.
• Flush and charge water mains.
• Collaborate with Tiaki Wai and Fulton Hogan teams and contractors to achieve results.

• Permanent Nightshift based out of our Porirua Depot with work around Wellington region
• Weekly wages with more earning potential through paid overtime and allowances
• Work in a dedicated Nightshift team

The opportunity

It’s an important job maintaining our most precious assets - water, health, and the environment – and here’s your chance to be involved.

Our water teams play a critical role in ensuring a continual supply of quality water with minimal interruptions to communities. No two days will be the same as you head out across the Wellington region undertaking a mix of planned and reactive works where you'll:

• Install and repair water connections on all sizes of mains
• Work on jobs of all shapes and sizes
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with trade practice
• Flush and charge water mains
• Work together with various teams and contractors to achieve results

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Practical trade or civil industry experience, ideally in the water sector, with the ability to use hand tools, small plant, and machinery.
• A reliable, hard-working, and can-do attitude.
• The ability to use technology (i.e., iPad or tablet) to record information.
• An understanding and commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
• A full, clean driver’s NZ class 1 Licence is a must & class 2, WTR is an added benefit.
• Enjoy working outdoors and can complete manual labour tasks.
