Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island, Blenheim, is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Night Fill Trading Manager to support the Night Fill Trading Manager in planning, rostering and daily operation of the night fill function across Dry Goods. You will drive stock presentation, inventory accuracy and safety standards while leading a small team.

Ideal candidates have NZQA Level 5 or 3+ years in a supervisory retail role, strong SAP/Excel skills, and a proactive, safety‑minded approach.

Qualifications

• NZQF level 5 qualification or 3 years relevant work experience.
• Sound SAP and Excel capabilities to achieve supermarket financial KPI’s.
• Proven decision‑making abilities with exceptional organisational, presentation and planning skills.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in retail or supermarket.
• Strong IT skills – confident with spreadsheets and systems.
• Great attitude and an always‑improving mindset.
• Excellent time management and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively.
• Commitment to Health & Safety and team wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the Night Fill team.
• Maintain stock presentation and shelf-fill standards across Dry Goods.
• Coordinate and prioritise nightly workloads to achieve operational goals.
• Supervise team members and provide guidance.
• Assist with rostering, attendance management and workforce planning within budget requirements.
• Support training, coaching and development of team members.
• Assist with stocktakes, inventory control and system updates.
• Monitor Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance standards.
• Promote a positive team culture focused on safety and customer service.
• Operate forklifts safely where required.
• Act in the absence of the Night Fill Trading Manager.
• Collaborate with department managers to ensure store readiness for customers.

PAK’nSAVE Blenheim is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Night Fill Trading Manager to join our team. This key support role works closely with the Night Fill Trading Manager to assist with the planning, organisation and day-to-day operation of the night fill function across our Dry Goods departments.

You will play an important role in supporting the team to achieve high merchandising standards, maintain stock availability, and ensure our customers enjoy a well-stocked shopping experience every day.

What You'll Do

• Support the Night Fill Trading Manager in leading and motivating the Night Fill team.
• Assist in ensuring stock presentation and shelf-fill standards are maintained across all Dry Goods departments.
