Job summary

Bidfood in Mangere, Auckland seeks experienced storepersons for a night-shift pick/pack role across multiple cold-storage departments. 4 x 10-hour shifts (6pm–4am), Sunday to Friday; flexibility required for extra hours.

40 hours minimum per week with potential for freezer-focused duties and training including PPE. Must provide 2 referees, pass security/ACC checks, and a pre-employment drug test and health check if working in the freezer.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and spoken English and numerical skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Accuracy and speed with picking and packing orders.
• Experience in a food distribution or warehouse environment.
• NZ permanent residency or citizenship required; provide 2 referees; pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack orders with accuracy and speed.
• Assist with loading/unloading and heavy lifting up to 25 kg.
• Work across Drystore, Chiller and Freezer departments as required.
• May learn to operate forklift or reach truck in due course.

Job description

We are looking for experienced storepersons to join our hard-working pick/pack team . Based in Mangere, night shift hours are 6pm to 4am, 4 x 10 hours shifts across our working week (Sunday to Friday. Actual shift days will be discussed at interview). Flexibility around working hours is required as we respond to changing business needs, ie: additional hours as required.

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is desirable (but not essential). We have three departments - Drystore (ambient temperature), Chiller and Freezer. Currently, our recruitment focus is the freezer so preference will be given to candidates keen to work in this environment (full training and PPE will be provided of course, and a freezer allowance will be payable). Applicants must be able to demonstrate a history of reliability as this is key to the success of our business.

This position requires individuals to be physically fit as there is frequent heavy lifting of up to 25kg. Preference will be given to applicants who have a desire to learn to operate and forklift and/or reach truck, but this is not essential.

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Excellent written and spoken English and numerical skills
• The ability to work unsupervised
• Accuracy and speed with picking and packing orders
• Experience working a food distribution or similar warehouse environment
• NO Criminal convictions
• MUST provide 2 contactable work referees
• NZ permanent residency or citizenship required
