Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Orderly - Security for Nelson Hospital. This permanent part-time role (0.80 FTE) covers 64 hours per fortnight, Tue–Fri, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.

You will move patients and supplies, maintain a courteous and professional service, and work with clinical and non-clinical teams to support patient care. The team of about 18 staff values integrity, innovation, respect and teamwork, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with strong customer service orientation.
• Able to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Physically capable to stand and walk for extended periods and undertake manual handling safely.
• Hold a clean, full driver’s licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care by ensuring safe and timely movement of patients, equipment and supplies.
• Provide courteous, professional, and responsive service while collaborating with clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Maintain security and safety protocols during shift and assist with hospital operations as required.
• Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused attitude in a fast-paced hospital environment.
