Job summary

Brylyn Rest Home in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to join our team. The role focuses on night shifts with weekend coverage, ensuring residents receive excellent support and care around the clock.

You will have previous experience in aged care, hold a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate, and demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and reliability for night duties and handovers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Caregiver in an aged care or rest home environment is required.
• Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate is required.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• A warm, empathetic, and patient approach toward elderly care.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts as well as part of a close-knit team.
• Reliability and flexibility to work scheduled night shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents in line with their individual care plans.
• Assist residents with night-time routines, mobility, personal hygiene, and comfort.
• Monitor resident well-being during night shifts and respond promptly to call bells.
• Maintain accurate, clear care documentation and report any changes in resident health or behavior.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and warm environment for all residents.
• Support team members and communicate effectively with handovers between shifts.
