Job summary

McCain Foods is seeking a Casual Security Officer for the Timaru site. This temporary, part-time role supports 12-hour night shifts and ensures a safe, secure, and professional environment for employees, contractors, visitors, and deliveries.

As the first point of contact, you will manage site access, uphold security procedures, and assist with weighbridge operations and visitor management. Full training is provided, and weekend or peak-season hours may be available.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach with a positive first impression of McCain.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Proficient with standard software such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Control the entry and exit of employees, contractors, visitors and delivery vehicles at our 24/7 site.
• Provide professional, courteous, customer-focused security services at the site’s main entrance.
• Ensure compliance with site security procedures and company policies.
• Administer site access systems, including Cardax ID card system.
• Support weighbridge operations and associated administration.
• Assist with visitor management, contractor requirements, and staff sales.
• Build positive relationships with employees, visitors, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Support a safe, secure, and efficient working environment across the site.
