Job summary

Wainui School is seeking a dedicated teacher for a full-time fixed-term position starting 12 October 2026 to 14 December 2026. The role targets Years 1–8 with a focus on core subjects, te reo Māori, and the arts, in a supportive rural community.

The ideal candidate builds strong relationships, communicates effectively, collaborates well with staff and whānau, and embraces outdoor learning and professional development. NZ Curriculum knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid teaching certification in New Zealand.
• Experience with NZ Curriculum and Structured Literacy beneficial.
• Knowledge of Maths and BSLA advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a roll-growth class within the junior teaching team.
• Build positive relationships with students, whānau and staff.
• Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects and outdoor learning activities.
