New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) – Wellington, North Island, is recruiting for a Technical Operations Manager to lead an operational team focused on applying advanced tradecraft and technology in support of national security investigations. The role is based in Wellington and is full-time and permanent.

You will help drive culture across Technical Operations, uplift capability, and maintain vital relationships with domestic and international partners, reporting to the Operations

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience leading and developing teams in an operational environment.
• Experience driving a culture of innovation to deliver technical operations and improve efficiency.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making under ambiguous situations.
• Strong collaboration and ability to build positive, productive relationships.
• Expertise in setting technical and operational standards and tradecraft.
• Ideally experience championing change in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead an operational team and apply cutting‑edge tradecraft and technology to support national‑security investigations.
• Drive culture across Technical Operations Teams and uplift technical and digital capability.
• Maintain operational relationships with domestic and international partners.
• Be a member of the Operations Delivery Leadership team and collaborate with other leaders to deliver outcomes.
