Job summary

WasteCo NZ Ltd is seeking an Operations Supervisor - WasteNet to oversee the day-to-day operations of several transfer stations across Southland, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service.

You will lead site teams, monitor performance in real time, coordinate with drivers and operations colleagues, and drive continuous improvement across systems, people, and processes to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising or leading teams in logistics or operations.
• Strong multi-site operational delivery experience.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends and support decisions.
• Excellent organisation and time-management in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse teams.
• Leadership style focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety culture, ensure policy and KPI compliance and incident investigations.
• Oversee daily operations across multiple transfer stations for efficient service.
• Maintain plant, equipment and vehicles and ensure optimal utilization.
• Coordinate schedules and waste handling activities.
• Supervise remote teams, fostering engagement and performance.
• Manage rosters, staffing levels and workforce development.
• Ensure contractual obligations are met and reporting is maintained.
• Manage budgets and identify efficiency improvements.
• Oversee contractor performance and procurement at site level.
