Job summary

WasteCo NZ Ltd in Balclutha is seeking a reliable Landfill Operator to operate the loader and rubbish compactor, assist at the Transfer Station Kiosk, and support customers on site.

This hands-on role reports to the Site Manager, includes weekend shifts and requires flexibility. A Class 4 Driver Licence, basic computer skills, and a strong safety mindset are essential; prior experience is preferred but not required, with a supportive team and opportunities to develop skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate the loader and rubbish compactor safely and efficiently.
• Assist with day-to-day Transfer Station Kiosk operations.
• Provide excellent customer service and on-site support.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and on time.
• Report incidents and hazards promptly.
• Attend toolbox meetings and participate in safety initiatives.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager on fleet maintenance and operational issues.
• Follow WasteCo policies and health and safety requirements.
