Job summary

New Zealand Clinical Research (NZCR) is seeking an IT support professional to join the Christchurch-based Digital team. This full-time, permanent role provides hands-on support across our technology environment, administers key platforms, maintains infrastructure, and collaborates with external service providers.

You will onsite at our Christchurch office, manage tickets, monitor systems, and contribute to security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT support or systems administration.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration capabilities.
• Experience with Windows Server, Azure, AD, DNS and DHCP.
• Formal IT qualification or certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote technical support to staff.
• Manage ticket queues and escalate to vendors as needed.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Windows Server and cloud platforms.
• Maintain networks, servers, backups and security updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues.

About the role

Full-time, Permanent

Join NZCR's Digital team and help keep our technology environment running smoothly across the wider organisation. Reporting to the Group Head of Digital Technology and working alongside our Digital Technical Lead, you'll provide hands-on support, administer key platforms, maintain infrastructure, and partner with external service providers to deliver a seamless technology experience for our teams.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues
• Support desktop, workstation and device deployments

• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with internal and external technology partners

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years' experience in an IT support, systems administration, or field services role
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration capability
• Sound knowledge of Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Recent IT certifications and/or a tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience working within a regulated environment such as healthcare, clinical research, or another compliance-driven industry would be advantageous
