Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Timaru is expanding its Medical Oncology service within a regional hospital setting. You will join a dedicated team delivering cancer care, supported by a modern facility undergoing refurbishment, and aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

We welcome specialists trained in NZ or Australia, or those with equivalent global training, and the right to work in New Zealand. Negotiable FTE to suit lifestyle and family needs.

  • You’ll bring New Zealand Vocational Registration (or be eligible for vocational registration) in Medical Oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oncology care in Timaru Hospital.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses in a small hospital setting to deliver timely, patient-centered oncology services.

About you

You’ll bring New Zealand Vocational Registration (or be eligible for vocational registration) in Medical Oncology. Most importantly, you’ll thrive in a team environment and value the variety and autonomy that comes with working in a smaller hospital setting.

We welcome Specialists trained in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia or those who have trained in similar healthcare systems globally, with the right to work in New Zealand.

Te Whatu Ora South Canterbury

Te Whatu Ora - South Canterbury is responsible for the delivery of services throughout the South Canterbury region and Timaru Hospital (131 beds) serves a district population of approximately 50,000 based in a General Hospital Facility, (which has just commenced a significant refurbishment programme), providing our local community with such critical 24/7 services as A&E, ICU/CCU, General, Orthopaedic, & ENT Surgery, O&G, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Oncology & Palliative Care and Internal Medicine.

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the ASMS Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
