Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operations of Core laboratory departments, including quality control, sample analysis, reagent management, and providing clinical support.
• Manage the receipt, registration and prioritisation of specimens into the laboratory.
• Participate in the 24/7 out-of-hours roster, including evenings and weekends, to ensure continuous laboratory services.
• Collaborate with laboratory scientists, clinicians, and other team members to deliver high-quality laboratory services.

About the Role

In these roles, you will work within a modern and well-equipped lab, offering the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and develop your skills in medical laboratory science. The successful candidates will contribute to essential clinical support and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our laboratory across core departments.

This role will consist primarily of shifts between 11.30 pm 08.30 am

Key responsibilities:

• Laboratory Support:Assist in the daily operations of the Core laboratory departments, including quality control, sample analysis, reagent management, and providing clinical support.
• Registration:Manage the receipt, registration and prioritisation of specimens into the laboratory.
• Shift Work:Participate in the 24/7 out-of-hours roster, including evening and weekend shifts, ensuring continuous laboratory services.

About the Service

Our fast-paced medical diagnostic laboratory supports Waikato Hospital and its five satellite hospitals. We also offer specialist testing services for community laboratories throughout the Waikato and Midland regions, ensuring a comprehensive service for our patients.
