Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites expressions of interest for a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Specialist Chemical Pathology at LabPLUS, Auckland. The role supports Chromatography and Specialist Biochemistry, with exposure to national screening programmes and flexible rostered shifts.

We value practical experience in chemical pathology, strong teamwork, and meticulous attention to quality. Ongoing training and development are provided as part of a permanent full-time position.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Formal qualification in chemical pathology.
• Recent practical experience in the specialty.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail with quality and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily in Chromatography and Specialist Biochemistry.
• Operate manual, semi-automated and fully automated methods.
• Support three national programmes (Bowel, Newborn, Antenatal) through LabPLUS.
• Be flexible to work across sections and rostered shifts including evenings and weekends.
