Job description

MBM is one of NZ’s most recognised multi-disciplinary media agencies, working with many of New Zealand’s best-known brands.

We work with our clients to provide market-leading media communication solutions.

Our success is grounded in our people and values. We believe that by empowering smart, curious and passionate people, we can deliver strong, demonstrable outcomes for our clients.

The role

Looking to kick-start your career in media? This is a great opportunity to learn the industry from the ground up, working alongside experienced media specialists and some of New Zealand’s best-known brands.

As a Media Assistant, you'll be part of a supportive team responsible for bringing media campaigns to life. You'll learn how brands reach the right audiences, how media strategies are developed, how campaigns are bought and delivered across different channels, and how we use data and insights to understand what's working.

This is an entry-level role, so you don't need previous media or agency experience. We're much more interested in finding someone who is curious, organised, comfortable with numbers and keen to learn.

What you'll get involved in
  • Research audiences, competitors and media trends to support campaign planning
  • Learn how different media channels and platforms reach different audiences
  • Help implement campaigns and manage media bookings
  • Work with media, creative and agency partners to keep campaigns running smoothly
  • Monitor campaign performance and contribute to client reporting
  • Turn campaign results into insights and learnings for future activity
About you

You might be finishing university, have recently graduated, or simply be looking for your first opportunity in media and advertising. You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Are curious, proactive and keen to learn
  • Have strong attention to detail and enjoy working with numbers
  • Are organised and comfortable juggling different tasks and deadlines
  • Are a confident communicator and enjoy working with others
  • Have a positive, problem-solving attitude
  • Are comfortable using Excel, or keen to develop your skills

Most importantly, you'll bring a growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to learn. We can teach you the media side.

Our offer to you

You'll gain hands-on experience across media planning, buying, campaign management, reporting and insights, with plenty of support from experienced people around you.

We offer:
  • Strong career progression and mentoring
  • Attendance at industry events
  • A collaborative, fun and rewarding team culture
  • Flexible working conditions
  • Birthday day off
  • Industry-leading parental leave policy
  • Confidential 24-hour support via our employee assistance programme
  • Access to best-in-class network capability and support
Skills, Experience & Education

You don't need previous media agency experience or a specific qualification to succeed in this role. We're looking for someone with strong communication and analytical skills, great attention to detail, and most importantly, the curiosity and drive to learn.
