Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Fulton Hogan is seeking a Mechanical Foreman to lead on-site mechanical fitting and welding tasks across water and wastewater projects in the region. You will interpret drawings, install pipework, and manage fit-up activities on site with a focus on safety and quality.
You will mentor the team, coordinate with engineers and supervisors, and ensure work progresses to programme while upholding Fulton Hogan’s standards and Good Work ethos.
With a growing workload across the South Island, we’re looking for a Mechanical Foreman to join our M&E team in Central Otago. Whether you’re already based in Wānaka or nearby, or keen to be part of projects in the region, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a hands on site leadership role across water, wastewater, industrial services, and process infrastructure projects. You’ll work as part of a team that brings together mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and controls disciplines to deliver complex work that matters.
You’ll interpret drawings, install and fit pipework, plant, and mechanical equipment, and tack weld pipework on site before it goes away for final welding. As a lead hand, you’ll keep things moving, set clear expectations, and work side by side with the team to deliver Good Work safely and to a high standard. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and we’re looking for someone who brings that same balance to site.
Lead, coordinate, install, assemble, and align mechanical equipment, pipework, and associated components on construction sites.
Plan and prioritise work to ensure jobs are delivered safely on time and to a high standard.
Read and work from drawings, isometrics, and site plans to complete mechanical fit-up work accurately.
Carry out pipe fitting, mechanical installation, and site modification work to meet project requirements and quality standards.
Provide hands-on technical guidance, coaching and problem-solving on the tools when needed.
Complete job records, maintenance documentation, and reporting accurately and on time.
Confidently tack weld pipework and components on site to support fit-up and fabrication before final welding.
Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and site crews to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality project outcomes.
Promote strong safety, quality, and productivity standards, while supporting a positive, team-first site culture.
You’ll bring hands-on mechanical expertise to water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment plants and pump stations.
