Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Wellington invites applications for a Mechanical Engineering Cadet. No prior engineering experience required; on-the-job learning and study support help you progress toward the NZ Diploma in Engineering.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across water infrastructure projects, CAD and digital engineering, and project delivery support, with mentoring and opportunities to work on site visits, design reviews, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Interest in Mechanical Engineering and intent to complete NZ Diploma.
• Minimum NZ entry criteria including 48 NCEA Level 2 credits (best 4 subjects).
• Openness to learn, disciplined study habits and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist site visits, review project progress and safety.
• Learn CAD/DE systems and procedures used by Stantec.
• Support delivery teams with drawings and 3D models.
• Contribute to data analysis and design calculations.
• Engage in project stages under supervision.
