Job summary

Aurecon Group in Wellington, New Zealand is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy & Industrial team. You will deliver mechanical engineering work across brownfield and sustaining capital projects, engage with clients, and support project teams from option assessment to delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, has experience in industrial settings, and can communicate recommendations clearly.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with industrial experience.
• Experience delivering engineering projects or technical studies.
• Ability to assess options and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience in brownfield or operating industrial environments.
• Willingness to work with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering work across brownfield and sustaining capital projects.
• Develop and assess engineering options, supporting practical recommendations for clients and project teams.
• Contribute to projects from early-stage studies through to delivery and site support.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Apply sound engineering judgement to solve operational and technical challenges.
• Travel to client sites across New Zealand to support projects and gain a strong understanding of client operations.
