Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Hastings is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our growing team. If you're hands-on and mechanically minded, you will assemble components and install hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on towing and recovery equipment.

Training is provided to the right person, and you will work alongside engineers, fabricators and other production staff to meet deadlines while maintaining a clean, safe workshop.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical work with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and training in assembly processes.
• Previous assembly or tool experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Install and fit hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on towing and recovery equipment
• Safely and efficiently use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
• Perform mechanical adjustments, alignments, and torque settings to ensure correct operation
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment while following health and safety procedures
• Work collaboratively with engineers, welders, fabricators, and other production team members to meet production deadlines
• Record assembly and quality control information as required
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality
