Job summary

Fonterra Co-operative Group is offering a four-year Mechanical Apprentice program at Studholme in New Zealand. You’ll join a supportive team and work in a large-scale manufacturing environment while earning a competitive salary and gaining a nationally recognised qualification in mechanical engineering.

Over four years you’ll learn structured theory and hands-on skills, including maintenance planning, diagnostics, welding, and robotics, preparing you for a long career in the trades.

Qualifications

• NCEA Level 2 with Maths and English or a relevant pre-trade qualification.
• Interest and aptitude for practical engineering work.
• Enjoy solving problems and learning new skills.
• Be comfortable working with different people and in a variety of environments.
• Hold or be working towards obtaining a Restricted Driver Licence by commencement.
• Be a New Zealand Citizen, Australian Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident.
• Be 16 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and improve critical equipment in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
• Learn from experienced tradespeople and engineers while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
• Work across equipment breakdowns, preventive and shutdown maintenance, and maintenance planning.
