Job summary

Service Foods Christchurch is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Butchery Assistant for the morning shift in Woolston, Christchurch. You will work with skilled butchers to ensure top-quality meat products reach customers, handling packing, labeling and order preparation.

Training is provided, and duties require maintaining safety, cleanliness, and accuracy in a temperature-controlled environment. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in meat processing/packing or food industry preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
• Physically fit with ability to lift up to 20kgs
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, team-focused and willing to learn
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to work in cold environment

Responsibilities

• Pack and label meat products with precision and care
• Ensure all products meet food safety and quality standards
• Operate vac-pack and other meat-wrapping equipment
• Prepare and organise orders for timely delivery
• Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace
• Support general butchery and operational duties
• Follow all Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures
