Service Foods Christchurch is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Butchery Assistant to join our morning shift.

As part of our Butchery team, you will play a crucial role in daily operations, working closely with our skilled butchers to help deliver the finest meat products to our customers.

Position snapshot

• Immediate start
• Location: Woolston, Christchurch
• Days: Monday to Saturday

Your primary responsibility is to accurately package and prepare meat products to meet our strict quality and safety standards.

Key Tasks Include:

• Packing and labelling meat products with precision and care
• Ensuring all products meet food safety and quality requirements
• Operating vac-pack and other equipment to wrap meat
• Preparing and organising orders for timely delivery
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace
• Supporting meat preparation tasks (full training provided)
• Following all Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures
• Assisting with general butchery and operational duties

You’ll be working in a temperature‑controlled environment, so comfort with chilled or freezer conditions is essential. The role also involves repetitive hand movements and some heavy lifting.
