Job summary

ANZCO Foods Limited is seeking dedicated Level 4 Qualified Meat Inspectors to join our Canterbury site. This multi-species site welcomes applicants with Level 4 Ovine and/or Bovine qualifications, with additional training provided to suitable candidates.

As a Meat Inspector you will perform post mortem inspections in line with the Operational Code – Red Meat Post Mortem Examination, uphold food safety and quality standards, maintain records, and collaborate with regulatory bodies and QA teams.

Qualifications

  • Must hold current Level 4 qualifications in Ovine and/or Bovine meat inspection.
  • Strong knowledge of meat processing standards and food safety regulations.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect meat products for compliance with the Operational Code – Red Meat Post Mortem Examination.
  • Maintain hygiene and quality standards across facilities.
  • Identify and report safety hazards or non-compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and quality control teams.

Job description

ANZCO Foods Limited are currently seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Level 4 Qualified Meat Inspectors to join our team at our ANZCO Foods Canterbury Site. Canterbury is our only multi specie Site within the organisation. ANZCO welcome applications from Level 4 Ovine and Bovine qualified Meat Inspectors as additional training would be provided to any suitable applicant.

This role is vital to our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality meat products to our customers. The ANZCO employed Meat Inspectors will be responsible for carrying out Post Mortem Inspection as per the requirements laid out in the Operational Code – Red Meat Post Mortem Examination, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and supporting quality assurance standards across our facilities and assisting when required in other roles.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspect meat products for compliance with the Operational Code – Red Meat Post Mortem Examination.
  • Ensure adherence to hygiene and quality standards.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards or non-compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.
  • Work collaboratively with regulatory bodies and quality control teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current level 4 qualifications in Ovine and/or Bovine meat inspection, as per the Operational Code – Red Meat Post Mortem Examination.
  • Strong knowledge of meat processing standards, food safety regulations, and quality control.
  • Excellent observational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
