Job summary

MedRecruit Limited represents a tertiary hospital in Christchurch, New Zealand, seeking an experienced Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our service. The role covers outpatient clinics, operating theatres, acute and on-call duties, and inpatient care.

You will contribute to education, research and service improvement, teaching Registrars, House Officers, Medical Students and nursing staff while maintaining a culture of excellence. A 1:3 on-call roster is part of the commitment.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand and the Medical Council of New Zealand (or eligibility for registration).
• Expertise across general Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to education, quality improvement, research and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex environment and prioritise clinical workload.
• A patient-centred approach and commitment to achieving equitable healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care across outpatient clinics, operating theatre sessions, acute and on-call responsibilities, and inpatient services.
• Contribute to education, research and service improvement initiatives and teach Registrars, House Officers, Medical Students, Nursing staff and Allied Health professionals.
• Participate in a 1:3 on-call roster and ensure equitable, patient-focused care aligned with best-practice principles.
