Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites applications for a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton. This is a permanent part-time role at 0.8 FTE with responsibilities spanning acute, elective and outpatient OMS services within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will work with ORL Head and Neck, Plastic Surgery and Medical/Radiation Oncology colleagues, with opportunities in TMJ surgery, oncologic reconstructive work and teaching responsibilities

Qualifications

• Registered specialist OMS with Medical Council of New Zealand and Dental Council of New Zealand.
• Experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery with emphasis on trauma, oncology, reconstruction, TMJ and craniofacial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients following professional OMS guidelines.
• Document and communicate treatment plans clearly to the team and patients.
• Attend regular service meetings and provide supervision/teaching to junior staff.
• Contribute to teaching and development of trainees and students.
