Job summary

Chapel Downs Junior College in Auckland is seeking two Mathematics/Numeracy teachers (Certificated) to join our growing junior college. The roles are full-time and permanent, with Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura requirements.

We welcome educators who build numeracy foundations and make maths engaging for diverse learners. You will design learning experiences, support learners with varying needs, and collaborate with a forward-thinking team.

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher qualification required with NZ teaching standards.
• Strong numeracy foundations and ability to teach mathematics to secondary students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging learning experiences for learners across Years 7–10.
• Collaborate with a supportive team to meet a range of learner needs.
• Support students from those needing extra help to those ready for extension.

We are looking for 2 mathematics / numeracy teachers who are passionate about building confidence, capability, and curiosity in our learners.

Early adolescence is a pivotal time for developing positive attitudes towards mathematics. This role is an opportunity to help students strengthen their foundational skills while also seeing maths as something meaningful, relevant, and achievable.

You’ll work alongside a collaborative team to design engaging learning experiences that support all learners. From those needing extra support to those ready for extension.
