Job summary

Encompass Education Hub invites applications for a Mathematics and Numeracy specialist to lead and teach from Year 9 to 13 to NCEA Level 3 at the Auckland Hub in Henderson. The role starts at the beginning of 2027 and is based at the Henderson campus.

The successful candidate will mentor beginning teachers and integrate Numeracy within a project-based learning framework. The role seeks an NZ registered teacher with a practising certificate, a right to work in NZ, and a commitment to inclusive

Qualifications

• NZ teacher registration and practising certificate.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Experience supporting autistic and neurodivergent learners.
• Subject leadership experience including curriculum and assessment development.
• Collaborative, reflective approach to make learning accessible.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics and Numeracy from Year 9 to 13 to NCEA Level 3.
• Mentor, coach and grow beginning teachers.
• Integrate Numeracy CA and project-based learning into units.
• Collaborate with whānau to strengthen partnerships and inclusion.
• Contribute to curriculum and assessment development and school improvement.

The role

Encompass Education Hub is seeking an innovative Mathematics and Numeracy specialist with sound knowledge and experience teaching and leading mathematics from Year 9 to 13 to NCEA Level 3 to join our team at the start of 2027.This position is based at the Auckland Hub in Henderson.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of NZQA mathematics teaching, learning and assessments, including the Numeracy Common Assessment Activity, and the flexibility to integrate this learning meaningfully into a project-based approach. They will also have proven ability to mentor, coach and grow beginning teachers.

We are looking for:

• current New Zealand teacher registration and a practising certificate
• applicants with a legal right to work in New Zealand
• experience with, or a strong commitment to, supporting autistic and neurodivergent learners
• subject leadership experience, including curriculum and assessment development
• a collaborative, reflective approach and a passion for making learning meaningful and accessible.
