Encompass Education Hub in Auckland is seeking an innovative Mathematics and Numeracy Specialist to teach and lead mathematics from Year 9–13 up to NCEA Level 3, starting early 2027.

The role focuses on NZQA mathematics teaching, Numeracy CAS, and project-based learning, with a strong emphasis on mentoring beginning teachers and collaborating with whānau.

We value inclusive practice, neurodivergent learners, and a reflective, partnership-driven approach to make learning meaningful and accessible.

Qualifications

• Current NZ teacher registration and a practising certificate.
• Applicants with a legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Experience with, or a strong commitment to, supporting autistic and neurodivergent learners.
• Subject leadership experience, including curriculum and assessment development.
• A collaborative, reflective approach and a passion for making learning meaningful and accessible.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics and Numeracy to Years 9–13 up to NCEA Level 3.
• Mentor and develop beginning teachers.
• Lead curriculum and assessment development.
• Integrate Numeracy learning into project-based learning approaches.
