Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Southland is seeking a Health Care Assistant for the Maternity Unit. This permanent, part-time (0.6FTE) role supports midwives and nurses with direct and non-direct patient care, maintaining ward environments and delivering high-quality customer service.

The successful candidate will handle housekeeping, patient room cleaning, stock reconciliation and clerical duties, while rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering patient care with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work in a team under direction of nurses/midwives.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• General department housekeeping
• Cleaning of delivery rooms, Antenatal/Postnatal rooms and clinic rooms
• Stock reconciliation
• Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
• Clerical duties as required
