Synergy Hair in Christchurch seeks a proactive Marketing & Digital Assistant to support our growth. You will back-end support, deliver campaigns across ecommerce and digital channels, and assist internal & external customers. This full-time role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years in marketing or digital/media roles.

Qualifications

• Ideal for entry-level marketers with 1–2 years in marketing, digital media or ecommerce.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update ecommerce and content across channels.
• Design, build and schedule EDM campaigns using Klaviyo and Mailchimp.
• Create and schedule social content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Google Business Manager.
• Assist with marketing campaigns, supplier coordination and in-store promotions.
• Analyse campaigns and reports to support growth initiatives.

Synergy Hair & HBO Salon Supplies is one of New Zealand’s leading professional hair and beauty omni – channel retailers, operating 15 salons and retail stores alongside three fast-growing ecommerce brands.

Based at our Head Office in Christchurch, you’ll join a small close-knit team supporting our nationwide retail, salon and ecommerce businesses, a staff of approx. 100 - while working with some of the world’s leading professional haircare brands.

We’re looking for a tech savvy, creative, organized and energetic Marketing & Digital Assistant to support our growth.

About the Role

Working alongside the Marketing Manager & our Head Office team, you’ll be involved with back end technical support, help deliver marketing across our digital mediums, salon/retail stores and ecommerce channels and support both internal & external customers. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday*.

Key Responsibilities

Ecommerce & Digital

• Maintain and update our e-com websites, including 8000 (SKUs) products, pricing, promotions and content.
• Design, build and schedule EDM campaigns using Klaviyo and Mailchimp.
• Understand paid Social Channel advertising.
• Monitor campaign performance using Shopify, Metorik, GA4, Meta and TikTok.
• Support Omni Channel customer acquisition, loyalty, retention and ecommerce growth.
• Assist with e-com and digital marketing projects.
• Understand business analytics and reports

Digital and Social

• Work with the team to plan, create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Google Business Manager.
• Involved with Film and edit short-form video and visual content using CapCut, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Manage community engagement, giveaways and content calendars.
• Initiate internal or external activations to capture content.

Marketing & Campaigns

• Help plan and deliver campaigns across retail, ecommerce and digital channels strategically targeting a mix of B2C & B2B.
• Work with suppliers, shopping center'sand internal teams.
• Coordinate marketing collateral with our Graphic Designer, including POS and promotional material.
• Be involved with merchandising and in-store promotions.
• Build a strong understanding of our products, customers and retail environment.

General

• Respond to customer enquiries and assist with ecommerce fulfilment (picking/packing) when required.
• Assist with general administration when required.
• Complete hands-on training in our salons and stores to learn our products, processes & customers.
• Assist the wider Head Office team with marketing and business projects.
• Be willing to jump in and help wherever needed.

About You

You will need energy and focus, be organised and proactive, with a genuine understanding of the digital functionality behind every business.

You’ll move in a fast-paced environment, enjoy variety and be excited to work across hairdressing services, retail marketing and ecommerce channels.

Skills & Experience

Ideally, you’ll have minimum 1–2 years’ experience in marketing, digital mediums & ecommerce, with knowledge in some of the following: This is an entry level role. (NOTE: We will not reply to you if you do not have the skills / Experience)

• Knowledge of digital Tech Stacks
• Understanding of POS Systems
• Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
• CRM and / or IMS knowledge
• Shopify or another ecommerce platform. (Must Have)
• Meta Business Suite and paid social advertising.
• Klaviyo, Mailchimp or another email marketing platform.
• Copywriting and content creation.
• Basic SEO and digital marketing knowledge.
• GA4 or ecommerce reporting.
• Strong organisation and time management.
• Microsoft Office 365.
• Social media content creation and management.
• Experience within the haircare or beauty industry would be an advantage.
