Job summary

Visy in Auckland City is seeking a Software Engineer to build, maintain, and optimize manufacturing systems that support Visy’s NZ operations. You’ll design scalable database solutions and integrate enterprise technologies while developing stored procedures, triggers, functions, and complex SQL queries.

You will use Shell scripting, Python, Perl and PHP to support automation and application development, collaborating with Operations, Quality and IT to drive efficiency and business value.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining manufacturing-related applications and data systems.
• Proficiency in designing scalable database solutions and integrating systems using enterprise DBs.
• Strong SQL skills including development of stored procedures, triggers, functions, and complex queries.
• Proven ability to automate and script with languages such as Python, Perl, PHP and Shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance manufacturing systems supporting Visy NZ operations.
• Design scalable database solutions and system integrations using Sybase, MariaDB and Oracle.
• Develop, optimise and maintain stored procedures, triggers, functions, and complex SQL queries.
• Create automation and integrations using Shell, Python, Perl, and PHP.
