Job summary
Amcor in Auckland seeks an Automation Engineer to support design, development and commissioning of industrial machinery and control systems. You will work under an Electrical & Automation Manager and contribute across machine builds, testing and customer deployments.
Responsibilities include PLC/HMI programming, electrical documentation, commissioning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement, with hands-on electrical work and site support as needed.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or similar.
- Qualified Electrician with industrial machinery experience.
- Basic understanding of industrial automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Exposure to PLC-based control systems (Rockwell/Allen Bradley).
- Experience working with industrial machinery.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical and automation system development.
- Support PLC and HMI programming of new machine builds.
- Assist with electrical design documentation and updates.
- Support machine commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support during machine builds, site installations & customer support.
- Contribute to continuous machine improvements.
- Build and maintain clear technical documentation.
