Job summary

ABB is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer in Napier, NZ. You will support maintenance activities to achieve quality, cost, and production targets for active products, collaborating with R&D, Agile teams, SCM, and Production. The role offers exposure to new product development and prototype testing in a growing global business.

You will contribute to mass production readiness, manage technical docs, and help translate R&D into market-ready designs within an energetic, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Solidworks or similar 3D modelling software.
• Strong 2D drafting skills (AutoCAD) and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across departments.
• Nice-to-have: SAP experience and/or power electronics background.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing engineering changes in active products.
• Managing technical documents for production including 3D models, schematics, BOMs, and assembly procedures.
• Establishing project specifications for production.
• Converting R&D developments into products for market and readying for mass production.
• Problem solving analysis and investigation with Quality and Process teams.
• Supporting production lines.
• Maintaining assembly instructions.
• Maintaining packaging instructions.
