Job summary

Taumata Arowai in Wellington is seeking a Manager, Workplace and Risk to lead risk, assurance and resilience across the Authority. You will oversee health and safety, facilities, fleet and workplace services, and provide strategic guidance to leaders and governance groups.

You will drive improvements in information management, corporate policies and workplace change, fostering a culture focused on safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across risk, assurance, health and safety, workplace, facilities or related corporate services.
• Experience developing and monitoring enterprise risk and assurance frameworks in New Zealand’s public sector.
• Experience leading business continuity and organisational resilience planning.
• Experience developing and implementing organisational policies, frameworks and operating procedures.

The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai (the Authority) was established as a Crown Entity in 2021, following the outbreak of illness in the Havelock North community as a result of drinking contaminated water from the public water supply. The Authority oversees and regulates the safety and quality of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services across New Zealand. We do this on behalf of consumers and communities throughout New Zealand, so they can have confidence in the safety and quality of their drinking water and the impact on their environment.

Job Description

As Manager, Workplace and Risk, you’ll have the opportunity to lead work that directly supports the safety, resilience and success of our organisation. You’ll oversee a diverse portfolio spanning risk, assurance, health and safety, business continuity, information management and workplace services. Working closely with leaders and teams across the Authority, you’ll influence key decisions, strengthen organisational capability and help create a positive workplace where our people can thrive.

The Manager, Workplace and Risk will

We are looking for someone who,

Has extensive leadership experience across risk, assurance, health and safety, workplace, facilities or related corporate services.

Proven experience developing and monitoring enterprise risk and assurance frameworks in New Zealand’s public sector.

Experience developing and implementing organisational policies, frameworks and operating procedures.

Experience leading business continuity and organisational resilience planning.
