Job summary

Synapxe is hiring for a business management role to support the Cybersecurity Portfolio director, focusing on financial management and strategic oversight. The role involves rapid evolution, discovery and prioritisation of improvements, with emphasis on self-learning and adaptability.

This is a 2 year direct contract role based in New Zealand, Otago, with opportunities to expand into other Healthcare Technology areas as the portfolio evolves.

Qualifications

• PMO experience is required and knowledge of cybersecurity is an advantage.
• Proven ability to structure thoughts and communicate clearly across presentations and documents.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders and managing cross-functional teams.
• Strong cost management understanding and IT strategy awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support in management and operations of the Cybersecurity Portfolio for Public Healthcare.
• Monitor programme/portfolio reporting and support PMO activities.
• Coordinate meetings, take formal minutes, and follow up on issues.
• Liaise with stakeholders and project managers for status reporting.
• Ensure portfolio governance and maintain document filing and intranet updates.
• Engage multiple IT and Finance stakeholders within MOH and Public Healthcare Clusters.
• Assist portfolio initiatives as directed by the Cybersecurity Portfolio chair/co-chair.

Role & Responsibilities

• Support in the management and operations of the Cybersecurity Portfolio for Public Healthcare,
• Monitor programme/ portfolio reporting and support cybersecurity portfolio management office.
• Calendar management - Coordinate/Schedule meetings, Formal minute taking and follow up on issue raise from various forums.
• Liaise closely with stakeholders and project managers for status reporting and tracking. Provide secretariat support to the cybersecurity portfolio team.
• Ensure cybersecurity portfolio compliance and portfolio governance process.
• Maintain document filing structure / repository (SharePoint) and update cybersecurity portfolio intranet site time to time.
• Manage multiple IT and Finance stakeholders in the Ministry of Health (MOH), Public Healthcare Clusters and Agencies
• Assist to support portfolio-related initiatives as and when called upon by the Cybersecurity Portfolio chair/co-chair.

Requirements

• Ability to structure thought quickly and communicate succinctly verbally, in presentations and in documents.
• Ability to engage, manage and work with colleagues and peers at all levels.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of SharePoint is an advantage.
• Project/Program Management (PMO) experience is a requirement.
• Familiarity with cost management and IT strategy and management will be good. Knowledge in Cybersecurity is an advantage.
• Minimum Diploma holder. Certification in Computer Science / Information Systems / Technology is an advantage.
• Enthusiastic collaborator and team player with positive attitude. Self-motivated, team -oriented, and hands-on personality, comfortable in driving and managing change as well as challenging the status quo.

Profile description

Position Overview

This is a business management role to help the Cybersecurity Portfolio director to manage the cyber business using financial numbers. It also evolves rapidly and staff will need to continuously and pro-actively explore, discover and prioritise ways to improve the running of the Cybersecurity Portfolio. Constant self-learning, re-invention, and creative and lateral thinking are expected. Candidates should also note that this role may be transitional, with staff being offered expanded opportunities in other areas in Healthcare Technology.
