Robert Half Finance & Accounting is seeking a finance professional in Auckland to lead the month-end close, provide actionable commentary, and engage with stakeholders across the business. The role covers budgeting, rolling forecasts, and strong internal controls in a fast-growing environment.

My client is an early-stage business who is experiencing rapid growth. Through related businesses, they have a solid foundation to grow out this service offering. They operate an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment and are looking for someone who wants to work in a fast-moving business.

The Role

This is a broad role that will obtain exposure across most of the finance function. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the month-end process, including commentaries and recommendations to the wider business
• Strong stakeholder engagement responsibilities, including attending operational business meetings
• Active involvement in budgeting and rolling quarterly forecasting
• Critical review of business processes to ensure clear and effective internal controls
• Various other ad hoc tasks, as required by senior leadership

Your Profile

This role is perfectly suited for someone looking for their first move from practice. A strong technical understanding will ensure the successful candidate plays a pivotal role to internal best practise to facilitate ongoing growth forecasts. We would also consider someone that comes from a limited commercial background, ideally from a fast-paced and scaling business. The right candidate will understand what "good" looks like and will be able to bring that mentality to this business. Some other key criteria:

• CA or CPA qualification (we will consider someone working towards this)
• Any exposure (or desire to learn) to Power BI is advantageous
• A desire to interact and partner the wider business

The role is based in central/South Auckland and the company adopts a flexible working philosophy with hybrid also available.
