Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Alexandra, Central Otago is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll partner with operational leaders to deliver monthly reporting, insights, and analysis that support smart decisions.

Prepare monthly management accounts, support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning, and provide financial analysis to drive business performance. Strong Excel skills and a practical approach are essential.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• Experience in management accounting, commercial finance, or business partnering.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reporting.

We’re looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our team in Alexandra, Central Otago on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Whether you’re starting out in accounting or already have experience behind you, this is a chance to do meaningful work with a supportive team that’s focused on getting things done. Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reporting.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning.

Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to operational teams.

Assist with month-end, reconciliations, audit, and year-end reporting requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and business performance.

A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience in management accounting, commercial finance, or business partnering, or a strong willingness to learn if you’re starting out.

Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.

Sound analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a practical approach to problem solving.

Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
