Job summary

Millennium Hotels and Resorts NZ is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Grand Millennium Auckland. The role focuses on painting, cosmetic upkeep, and general maintenance to keep guest rooms and public areas in top condition.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will perform routine inspections, respond to guest requests, and support basic repairs across plumbing, joinery, and fixtures within a busy hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting, patching and cosmetic maintenance.
• Experience in hotel, facilities or commercial property environment.
• Good communication and guest-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out painting, touch-ups, and cosmetic repairs across guest rooms and public areas.
• Completing general maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance.
• Responding promptly to guest maintenance requests.
• Assisting with routine inspections to identify issues.
• Supporting basic repairs across plumbing, joinery, fixtures and fittings.
• Maintaining hotel grounds and back-of-house areas.
• Ensuring work safety and hotel health standards.

About the Role

Grand Millennium Auckland has an exciting opportunity for aMaintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this hands-on role suits someone practical, reliable, and motivated to keep the hotel looking its best.

A key focus of this role will bepainting and cosmetic upkeep across guest rooms and public areas, ensuring our hotel maintains a high standard of presentation at all times. Alongside painting work, you’ll assist with general repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding to guest requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying outpainting, touch-ups, and cosmetic repairs across guest rooms, corridors, and public areas
• Completinggeneral maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance
• Responding promptly toguest maintenance requests in a professional and efficient manner
• Assisting withroutine inspections to identify maintenance issues before they impact guests
• Supporting the Maintenance team withbasic repairs across plumbing, joinery, fixtures, and fittings
• Maintaining hotel grounds and back-of-house areas to ensure a clean and safe environment
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line withhotel health and safety standards

Skills & Experience: We’re looking for someone withprevious maintenance or handyman experience, ideally in a hotel, facilities, or commercial property environment. Experience withpainting and finishing work will be highly valued in this role.
