Job summary

Pact Recycling New Zealand is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join our East Tamaki site, reporting to the Operations Manager. You’ll maintain and improve electrical and automation systems across East Tamaki and Penrose sites to ensure reliable manufacturing operations.

This hands-on role covers electrical maintenance, fault finding, automation projects, and continuous improvement, with occasional overtime for breakdown support and a focus on safety and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Level 6 or equivalent.
• NZ Electrical Registration and Practising Licence (A Grade).
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Electrician in FMCG/manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting across electrical and automation systems.
• Proven project management and computer skills; experience in plastics/recycling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical maintenance and technical support at East Tamaki and Penrose sites.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs on electrical/automation/control systems.
• Plan, document and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Install, program, commission and maintain PLCs and VSDs.
• Support automation projects with Production teams and Pact Group network.
• Monitor energy use and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Manage spare parts, purchasing, and coordinate contractors.
• Promote safety, assist audits, and support continuous improvement.
