Job summary

Pact Group in Albany, Auckland is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician to maintain packaging manufacturing equipment, site services, and infrastructure. You will deliver preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and timely repairs to maximise uptime, while supporting automation and continuous improvement in a safety-first environment.

The role reports to Maintenance Manager; standard hours Mon-Fri 6:30am-4:00pm with overtime and on-call when required.

Qualifications

  • NZ EWRB Registered Electrician with current practising license (desirable).
  • At least 3 years' technical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Electrical Trade Certificate (or equivalent engineering trade qualification).
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and CMMS (preferably MEX).
  • Excellent fault finding, diagnostic, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, approachable, and professional.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 and ability to work unattended.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure reliable plant performance and minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and respond quickly to breakdowns to maximise production uptime.
  • Use CMMS (MEX) to manage maintenance schedules, track work orders, and maintain accurate records and spare parts inventory.
  • Monitor and maintain critical site services, coordinating with external contractors to ensure continuous operations.
  • Oversee building and infrastructure maintenance, including electrical systems, and liaise with landlords and service providers.
  • Champion high standards of housekeeping, food safety, and 6S initiatives in line with HACCP and GMP requirements.
  • Support automation, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and capability.
  • Identify and implement reliability and continuous improvement initiatives and support Regular Asset Care Activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g. WHSE, FSSC22000, ISO14001), promoting a zero-harm culture.

Job Description

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for delivering preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and timely repairs to minimise downtime and support maximum factory uptime, while also managing site services, overseeing building and infrastructure maintenance, driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • NZ EWRB Registered Electrician with current practising licenseor willingness to obtain this qualification. (Desirable)
  • At least 3 years' technical maintenance experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environment.
  • Electrical Trade Certificate (or equivalent engineering trade qualification)
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and CMMS (preferably MEX).
  • Excellent fault finding, diagnostic, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, approachable, and professional.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 and ability to work unattended.
Additional Information
  • Albany, Auckland site
  • This is a permanent full-time role. Days of work required: Monday to Friday: 45 hours per week – Regular working hours 6.30am - 4.00pm. Overtime is paid after 40 hours.
  • The base hourly rate for this role is between $45.00 to $55.00 per hour – depending on experience.
  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call roster and overtime as required
