Job summary

Loveblock Wines in Marlborough is seeking a hands-on Machine Operator / Vineyard Maintenance to join our organic, low-intervention team. You will manage tractor tasks essential to vineyard care, while supporting a culture of environmental stewardship.

You’ll operate tractors for mowing, spraying, compost spreading, and cover crop work, and keep gear like mowers, sprayers, and trimmers in top condition. Early starts and weekend harvests are expected, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• A driver's licence and a genuine can-do streak.
• Growsafe certificate is a bonus, but can be arranged.
• Comfortable starting early, and pitching in on the odd weekend at harvest.
• An eye for detail — vineyards change daily, and so do you.
• A team mentality, a straight-up work ethic, and respect for doing things safely.

Responsibilities

• Run a tractor for mowing, spraying, compost spreading, and cultivating cover crops.
• Keep gear—mowers, mulchers, sprayers, trimmers—running clean and sharp.
• Assist with irrigation, trellis work, and general vineyard graft as needed.
• Work early starts and weekends during harvest season.
• Maintain safety and quality standards on the vineyard.

We're after someone who can run a tractor like it's second nature — mowing, spraying, spreading compost, cultivating cover crops — and who's just as handy keeping the gear that does it, (mowers, mulchers, sprayers, trimmers) running clean and sharp. Add in some irrigation, trellis work, and general vineyard graft, and you've got the job.
