Job summary

Smart Environmental Ltd in Auckland is seeking a reliable Casual Machine Operator for our Tyre Recycling team. You will operate heavy machinery, assist shredding and baling tyres, load and unload materials, and perform routine checks to meet production targets with safety in mind.

We offer casual, as-required hours, full PPE, a supportive team and ongoing training. Applicants must have NZ working rights and be willing to work weekends when required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery.
• Excavator licence is required.
• Able to work weekends and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery in the Tyre Recycling Department.
• Support shredding, sorting and baling of tyres.
• Load and unload materials safely.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
• Ensure production targets are met safely.

Who Are You?

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery.
• Physically fit, reliable, and safety-focused.
• Excavator Licence required.
• Telehandler Licence advantageous.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work weekends and additional hours when required.

Your Role

• Operate heavy machinery within the Tyre Recycling Department.
• Support the shredding, sorting, and baling of tyres for recycling.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to production targets.
• Follow all safety, operational, and environmental procedures.
