Bayfield High School is seeking a skilled English teacher to join our supportive English department on a maternity-leave cover basis. The role welcomes experienced teachers or ambitious beginning teachers with strong potential, committed to high standards and community values.

You will teach across Years 9–13, develop engaging programmes, monitor progress with assessments, and collaborate with staff to support all learners while contributing to school life beyond the classroom.

Qualifikationen

• Fully registered teacher or eligible for registration in New Zealand.
• Strong knowledge of English, literacy and literature.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and whānau.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and success of all learners.

• support students at all levels, from those who need extra help to those who are ready to be extended
• use assessment information to monitor progress and lift achievement
• work collaboratively with colleagues in the English department and across the school
• contribute to the wider life of the school, including co-curricular activities.

• be a fully registered teacher, or eligible for registration, with a current practising certificate
• have strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
• be able to build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and whānau
• be committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to supporting the success of all learners, including Māori students
• be a team player who is flexible, organised and keen to contribute.
