Placements24 is seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to oversee extensive cattle and sheep operations in the Queenstown region. You will lead breeding, nutrition planning, pasture management, and welfare, ensuring productive, humane farming practices.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Animal Science or Veterinary Technology or equivalent practical experience, 7+ years in livestock management, strong leadership, and proficiency with farm management software.

Qualifications

• Degree or extensive practical experience in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in livestock management, cattle and sheep focus.
• Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, reproduction, and common diseases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement breeding, feeding, and health management programs for livestock.
• Oversee daily care and welfare of all animals, ensuring humane treatment.
• Manage pasture rotation, grazing, and supplementary feeding to optimize nutrition and land use.
