Job summary

Connetics in Christchurch (Canterbury) is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic to join our team. You will work on electrical distribution networks from 400V to HV, across construction, maintenance, and fault response tasks.

The role involves overhead line construction and upgrades, fault restoration, live 400V work, HV switching, and climbing with EWPs. A current EWRB licence or progress toward it is preferred, with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in overhead line work across construction, maintenance, or faults.
• EWRB licence (or working towards it)
• Good understanding of safety standards and electrical regulations
• Experience with distribution networks, EWPs, or HV work is an advantage
• Positive attitude, reliable, and keen to learn and develop

About the Role

We're looking for Line Mechanics to join our Christchurch team, delivering construction, maintenance, and fault response across electrical distribution networks from 400V to 66kV.

You'll be involved in:

• Fault response and network restoration
• Live low-voltage work (400V networks)
• High-voltage switching, isolation, and access procedures
• Working with EWP and climbing techniques
• Travel where required to support the network

About You
