Job summary

Community Leisure Management in Waitomo District, North Island, is seeking Lifeguards for the busy summer season at the Waitomo District Aquatic Centre. This fixed-term, part-time role runs from 20 September 2026 to 31 March 2027 with a 7-day roster from 6am to 7:30pm.

Responsibilities include lifeguarding pools, keeping grounds tidy, and ensuring health and safety procedures while attending all mandatory training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lifeguard and respond to emergencies.
• Must be available for the full fixed-term season.
• Must attend mandatory training.

Waitomo District Aquatic Centre is on the hunt for Lifeguards for the busy summer season ahead!

As a Lifeguard, your roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lifeguarding the pools
• Making sure the grounds are kept clean and tidy
• Making sure health and safety procedures are being followed
• Attending ALL training is a must
• Having fun!

Hours:

• This is a Fixed-Term Part-Time position for over the summer season - 20th September 2026 to 31st March 2027
• You must be available during the Christmas and New Years period
• 10-25 hours per week
• We run on a 7-day roster and are open from 6am – 7.30pm
