Job summary

Community Leisure Management – Auckland, North Island, is seeking Lifeguards for Point Erin Pools during the upcoming busy season. The role requires vigilance, strong observation, and a commitment to health and safety. Training will be provided, and you must attend lifeguard sessions and meetings. NZ working visa holders only.

The position is fixed-term, part-time (Nov 2026–May 2027) with flexible hours and opportunities to progress in the aquatics industry; free facility use is included.

Qualifications

• Previous lifeguarding experience is desirable but not essential.
• Current First Aid certificate required or in training.
• PLPC certification needed after hiring; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Attend lifeguard trainings and meetings – mandatory.
• Demonstrate vigilance and quick decision‑making in a busy aquatic environment.
• Maintain calm, professional conduct in challenging situations.
• Assist with other duties within the aquatics team as required.

Point Erin Pools are looking for superstar Lifeguards for the busy season ahead!

Responsibilities

• Previous lifeguarding experience is desirable but not essential.
• Making sure health and safety procedures are being followed
• Required to have PLPC and current First Aid certificate (US 6401, 6402, 6400) - training will be provided
• You need to attend lifeguard trainings and meetings – this is a must
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to health, safety, and risk management.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain vigilant in a busy aquatic environment.
• Confident decision-maker with strong observation and situational awareness skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Hours

This is a fixed-term, part time position from around November 2026 – May 2027 (dates to be finalised)

You need to be available during the Christmas and New Years period – this is a must

We run on a 7-day roster and are open from 5am – 9pm
