Job summary

Avalon Industrial Services is seeking an experienced IRATA Level 3 Rope Technician based in Hamilton, New Zealand. This hands-on role involves supervising rope access operations, working outdoors at height, and delivering projects safely with the team.

You will join a growing team, receive ongoing training, and have opportunities to take on greater responsibility across rope access and maintenance projects in a specialised industry.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced IRATA Level 3 Rope Technician / Supervisor to join our growing team based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Avalon Industrial Services specialises in Geotechnical, Structural Maintenance and Safety Systems, with projects across New Zealand. Our work includes rope access, bridge maintenance, power station maintenance, rockfall protection and a variety of specialist access and maintenance projects.

This is a hands-on, all-weather outdoor role working at height as part of a close-knit and professional team. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and Rope Technicians, with opportunities to take responsibility for supervising rope access operations and supporting the delivery of projects safely and efficiently.

Rope Access Technician - Hamilton Based

What We’re Looking For:

• Holds a current IRATA Level 3 qualification
• Has strong situational awareness and a proactive approach to safety
• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and reliability
• Has excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
• Has a positive can-do attitude and isn't afraid to get stuck in
• Has trade, construction, maintenance or related industry experience
• Is confident working at heights and in challenging outdoor environments
• Can work effectively as part of a team while also taking responsibility when working independently
• Is flexible and willing to undertake a variety of trade, maintenance and rope access tasks
• Is willing and able to travel for work when required
• Has good communication and leadership skills

Minimum Requirements:

• IRATA Level 3
• First Aid Certificate
• Trade or general maintenance experience
• Class 1 Driver's License
• New Zealand Citizen / Resident or valid NZ Work Visa
