Job summary

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi seeks two Lecturers for the School of Iwi Development to recruit students for the Certificate of Kai Oranga (level 3) and deliver the programme. The role involves mixed mode delivery including maara kai practicum, online tutorials, classroom activities, eLearning, assessment and marae-based noho marae.

Applicants should have a relevant diploma or higher qualification, adult teaching experience, and knowledge in rongoā, horticulture or maara kai, plus understanding

Qualifications

• Must have adult teaching experience and an adult teaching qualification.
• Diploma in horticulture or relevant qualification or equivalent experience in rongoa, horticulture or maara kai.
• Understanding of Māori organic and sustainable gardening and food growing practices.
• Networks with marae, iwi, hapū/whānau or community groups.
• Knowledge of tikanga Māori and intermediate Te Reo Māori skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit students for the Certificate of Kai Oranga, level 3, and deliver the programme.
• Deliver Kai Oranga with mixed mode delivery including practicum, online tutorials and classroom activities.
• Engage with community and marae within a rohe to support programme delivery.
